Jacques Fouquier was a Flemish landscapist, pupil and follower of Jan Brueghel the Elder and Joost de Momper. Groups of trees are disposed in the foreground in spacious landscapes with deep-blue background. The foreground is often animated by figures which recall Brueghel.
